Obakeng Gaitate studied accountancy and finance from With University and Unisa. He trained as an Accountant at KPMG, and has served as an accountant in public practice for over 30 years. He is an associate of SAICA (South African Institute of Chartered Accountants). He is the holder of a B.Compt degree, and an MBA.
